Exceeded Expectations
Michael and his team exceeded our expectations in many ways: 1) The initial proposal was very detailed and included a week by week schedule of activities. We knew from Day 1 what work would be done each week, and when each payment was due. There was no confusion about what to expect during the entire construction process. We were told that the construction would take 13 weeks, and it took exactly 13 weeks. Many people complain that their projects run late, but with Michael you can depend on everything happening on time. 2) Michael’s sub-contractors were also excellent and great to work with. Sometimes the contractor may be good, but the sub-contractors are not. In this case, we had a great experience with everyone who was sent to do work in our basement. I loved Gary the cabinet guy, who takes pride in his work and understanding what each customer wants. 3) Michael is an expert in basements, and he knew better than we did what should be included. He recommended that we move a post to make more walkway space. He knew that we shouldn’t build a long wet bar because it would get in the way of the walkway due to another post nearby. We would not have thought to ask for tray ceilings, but they were included in Michael’s proposal and look amazing. 4) The end result of our basement is stunning. We transformed several empty rooms with concrete floors to a luxury space of our home. I would highly recommend them to work on your next basement project.

Highly Recommend – A Clear Choice
It is easy to write this recommendation for Atlanta Basement Creations. As people that have been on both the good and bad side of hiring contractors to work on our house, we know the implications of making a bad contractor choice. Fortunately, when we decided to finish our basement, we are absolutely certain we made the right choice. Michael Humin epitomizes professionalism, attention to detail and commitment to his customers. We very much appreciate that Michael was respectful to our budget; consultative to provide recommendations we would never have thought of; and thorough enough to find things that needed fixed even if we may not have. Additionally, we were impressed with all the subcontractors that Michael uses. We felt all of them treated this basement with the quality of their own. LOVE my new space!
Michael and his contractors are the best in the industry. I can not say enough about the craftsmen who worked on my basement. We had a very big project- ripping out old finishes to the studs, raising ceilings, rewiring all the electrical, adding to our URC audio system, trenching concrete across the basement floor to add an additional bath, adding a bar that would rival any 5-star restaurant bar. We couldn’t be more pleased with the end result! Thanks to Michael and ALL the pros! We LOVE u!

Excellent Job
Michael and Roger did an excellent job on our just completed basement. From helping with design ideas to suggesting minor changes as we completed the buildout, everything went very smoothly. Michael provided a detailed timeline at the beginning of the project and the project was completed ahead of schedule. All of the contractors were professional and Roger was very detail oriented and kept the project ahead of schedule the entire time. Professional, Experienced, Quality Craftsmanship!
ABC made our DREAM basement a reality! We met with 4 contractors and ABC’s estimate was in the middle. We had a great feeling about Michael from the start. Our job was complex because we wanted to remove a load bearing wall and add a steel beam to open up the space so that it felt as open in our basement as it does upstairs. It was made more complex by the fact we have a terrible backyard and it drops an entire story, only accessible by stairs. Michael was very transparent in that this wasn’t an easy task and brought in the best structural engineer and steel fabricator for the job. However, nothing was too much of a challenged for ABC and they made it happen. A few weeks later, 8 men hand-carried in a 21 foot steel beam (yep)! The foreman on the project, Roger has incredible attention to detail to ensure that everything was done perfectly, on time, and on budget. His experience only reconfirmed that we chose the best contractor when we selected ABC. He was always around to check on the work being done, getting ready for inspections and communicating the schedule. They were very accommodating in terms of changes and helpful in making decisions on finishes along the way so that when it all came together it would look spectacular. The team of subcontractors did an excellent job and the craftsmen are all very talented. Our bar is more beautiful than the inspiration photos I showed them. I highly recommend ABC, they will help make your dream a reality too!

Easy to work with, focused on your success
My wife and I vetted many contractors, both basement specialists and total home contractors, and selected Atlanta Basement Creations because of the combination of value, experience, and ease of communication. During the bidding process, Michael was collaborative with ideas on how to maximize our space and compliant with our needs and wants. We had already planned out much of how we wanted the basement to look through the use of an architect which made the process easier. ABC’s price was fair and in line with what we were expecting based on other estimates. Throughout construction there were instances that came up that merited change orders, either due to unforeseen complications or because of our design choices evolving. All considered, we only experienced a 5% increase in cost due to changes. Our foreman, Roger, was excellent to work with. He gave us complete confidence that his standard of quality was up to ours. Roger went the extra mile to check everything and be methodical about construction so we would not need maintenance in the future. For example, before setting a new steel beam, he double checked the foundation to ensure it could withstand the load. We found that our house was missing the necessary foundation footers. Roger got his team to diagnose, fix, and get engineering approval for this fix while still completing the job on schedule. Outstanding work! Highly recommend!

Skilled, experienced, professional, and honest
ABC competed a full basement remodel to build out a master in-law suite. Roger Harman was the project manager and I wouldn’t have it any other way as he was very engaged, detailed, and prompt. The project took about 3 months (right in-line with original estimate) since this was a very extensive remodel. The subcontractors that they employ (i.e. electrician, HVAC, plumbing, cabinetry, stone mason, flooring, and tile installers) were also very experienced and detail oriented. It was clear that the subs they employ cared about quality first as well as making good suggestions. The quality of the finished basement was better than the high expectations we had set at the beginning of the project; which is very important when it comes to keeping in-laws happy. Anyway, prior to the project I solicited bids from 7 separate contractors and ABC’s estimate came in around the middle of the pack with two bids seemingly having been too low to really have been feasible. That said, I have no doubt I made the right choice from a quality perspective, but the bang for the buck was even better. The basement has the same degree and style of finishes as the rest of the house so it complements and looks as if it were done by the home builder…except a bit better. ABC was priced reasonably but their competence, timeliness, and character totally made this the right choice as we couldn’t be happier.

Fabulous basement!
Our basement was just completed and my husband and I could not be more pleased. The job was finished 2 weeks ahead of schedule (when does that ever happen?). A few notes worth highlighting: The quality of the work was outstanding. The foreman on the job is a perfectionist so he ensured that everything was completed perfectly. He picked up on little things he wanted corrected that my husband and I would have never even noticed. The subcontractors were all professional and did exemplary work. They showed up as scheduled and often worked late into the evenings to finish a job or on the weekends. Michael and his foreman, Roger, are outstanding. They were so easy to work with and accommodating. Anything we wanted to add or change, no matter how far into the project, they made it work. They had an excellent understanding of the project, when things would happen, and kept us informed. The final product is great. We built a bar which is gorgeous. They also made a sitting area, game room, and some kids rooms with shelves and a desk. We would highly recommend Michael and his team at Atlanta Basement Creations. I wish they did work on entire houses because I’d have them come in and make the rest of the house look as great as our basement!

Extremely satisfied with our finished basement!
Upon interviewing a number of contractors with regard to finishing our basement, we ultimately selected Atlanta Basement Creations. Michael impressed us from the very beginning – he closely listened to our needs and worked well with us to create a space that we will be enjoying for years to come. He was extremely patient with us as we worked through a number of details and he advised us well as it related to maintaining our established budget. In addition, we were extremely impressed with all the subcontractors that worked for Michael – it was clear that they have all worked together for quite some time and they each have a thorough understanding of the expectations for efficiency and quality. What a Difference!
My children went from scared to enter the basement to excited to play in the basement (and they don’t want to come upstairs)! What a difference hiring such an imaginative and professional team made to our home. We literally increased our living space; it no longer looks like a basement but a third level of our home. The finishes are gorgeous, the process was simple, and they held our hand the entire way. Michael has a solid team supporting him. Our Project Manager was very responsive, and creative. The contractors were incredibly punctual – and just so nice to work with. I honestly cannot say enough positive remarks about Atlanta Basement Creations. Elegant Apartment
Atlanta Basement Creations recently transformed our drive-under garage/basement into a beautiful, light-filled apartment. The space no longer looks like a garage or basement; it looks like another lovely living level in our home. Before choosing Atlanta Basement Creations, we spoke with four contractors. We chose Atlanta Basement Creations based on Kudzu Reviews, Michael Humin’s throroughness and professionalism, and Michael’s reasonable quote. Throughout the project, Michael and his project manager, Roger, took our needs, ideas, and budget seriously. Michael and Roger provided excellent ideas and advice, and they made sure that each phase of the project was completed to our satisfaction. The framing, plumbing, electrical, millwork, tile, cabinetry, and paint all reflect skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. A.B.C. finished our project ahead of schedule, and we are very pleased to have an apartment that functions and flows very well and is more spacious and attractive than we imagined it could be. Very happy with our new basement
After several years of contemplating how we may finish our basement of 2600 sq ft, we set out to find our builder. We selected Michael and ABC after researching reviews, seeing his previous work and having very comfortable face to face meetings. He was able to put together a well thought out plan that incorporated all of the specific desires we had. The scope of work and the schedule of each phase was clearly communicated and within a reasonable time frame. We were comfortable with each of the contractors as they were all very polite, professional and willing to voice their opinions if asked , which was quite helpful. The basement was recently completed and my wife and I are happier than we ever thought we could be. Team of top notch Professionals
We hired ABC recently, to finish our basement. Great experience working with Michael Humin and his team. The project involved re routing plumbing and gas lines, breaking walls etc in order to accommodate our needs. We were given a project plan at the beginning and knew in advance what to expect each week. The project was completed and delivered on time. They did excellent work for a fair price. In addition to being very responsive, they were also quick to address and resolve any issues that came up to our satisfaction. We recommend ABC and will definitely use them for other projects.

We got several quotes when we were beginning our basement project – Michael stood out with competitive pricing, some creative design ideas, and a base of satisfied customers eager to share the great work he and his team had done. Today our basement looks awesome and beautiful – all because of Michael and his great work. Everything worked as per plan, especially the timeline of the project. Just like any other project, one of the most important thing is the composition of the team and Michaels team was awesome. Michaels team comprising of plumbers, electrician, cabinets, flooring, painting, home theater expert, made our life so good. It was much easier to talk to each individuals (like electrician, cabinet, home theater etc), all of them were really good listeners and always provided their thoughts and ideas. What I liked most about Michael is his straight forwardness. He will not commit to things that he cannot deliver. The other positive aspect is, he always provides you different options from design perspective and a great listener. We really thank Michael and I would for sure will recommend him.

Best decision we ever made!
We contacted 6 contractors when we decided to finish our basement. Michael of ABC stood out- He is bright and personable and gave us the bid promptly. He made the choice obvious! We had no renovation/construction experience, and spending so much money made us nervous. Our project was large- 2400 sq feet with a redesign of the existing framing, entrances, plumbing, etc. The day before construction was set to begin I watched a show on HGTV about renovation disasters and got cold feet. I texted Michael about it and he directed me to Kudzu to read these reviews and rest easy. And he was right. Three things stand out about Michael/ABC. First, he truly wants your vision of your space to become a reality. He had great ideas and I used many of them, but he wanted ME to be happy. Second, his subs were all great. Remember, you will have these people on your property for the duration of the project. He has longstanding relationships with his subs and they work well with Michael and with each other. Third, the results are beautiful. Our standards were high and we are so pleased. We spend so much time in the basement and have hosted 3 large gatherings in two months. Money well spent!

Fantastic Contractor
We have built two homes and this is our 2nd basement finished out. Atlanta Basement Creations was by far the best contracting company we have worked with over the years. From the beginning, Michael worked with us on our ideas and helped us come up with a plan. He put everything in writing and thoroughly went over the project to help set our expectations. The project went very smoothly with only a couple small changes here and there. Michael never nickeled and dimed us but did work with us on costs as we made changes.
